A painting of somewhere that matters
Commissioned paintings begin with a meaningful place - a childhood garden, favourite scene, family home, special view, holiday landscape or somewhere that feels like refuge. The emphasis is on memory, atmosphere and feeling, rather than simply reproducing a photograph. This isn't a reproduction. It's an interpretation - created especially for you.

I Paint
I take what you've shared and interpret it through my own artistic language. The finished work is an original painting, not a literal copy of the reference photographs.

Collector’s Story
Golden Hour
“I wanted a commission to fill a large blank wall in my home, which is located in a space that when the appropriate weather in Glasgow arrives, is full of natural light. I wanted it to be such a large canvas that the artwork would feel immersive.
As I was such a blank slate regarding what I actually wanted, Lelanie encouraged me to think of images that have inspired me and have meaning for me. This brought to mind photographs I took of the Cullins, a mountain range on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, where the light at the moment the image was captured, created a purple hue on the mountainscape. Purple is my favourite colour; it gives me a feeling of warmth and safety but also simultaneous awe.
That was the beginning of the vision - with my photographs, the size of canvas, the colour of walls and the adjacent stained glass window, Lelanie was able to set forth her artistic ideas. Although as I've said I find it hard to express what I like in artworks, with Lelanie's guidance, I was able to formulate ideas so that I really felt in control of the development of the work.”
“Despite living over 200 miles from Lelanie, she regularly kept me informed of progress, alongside photos of the developing canvas, to ensure I was happy with the image being created. I was never nervous; I was always sure that what was being created was what I wanted/would want.
In May 2025 the piece was finished and delivered personally to my home by Lelanie - in a large van! I was overwhelmed - the painting was all I could have wanted; the colours, the elements of Art Nouveau in the foreground foliage, the shimmer of light on the water, and once on the wall it was truly immersive. Not only did Lelanie capture light within the painting itself but the natural light from the stained glass windows enhances that still further.
It has been a wonderful experience working with Lelanie from beginning to end and the joy continues as I immerse myself in the painting, as I walk past it, every day.”

YOUR PAINTING, YOUR WAY
Commissions are available in a range of sizes, from intimate paintings to larger statement works. If you already have a particular size or space in mind, we can also work together on a bespoke format.
SIZE & SCALE
Commissioned paintings begin at A3 and can grow from there – from intimate pieces to large-scale paintings designed to become a real focal point within your home.
When you enquire, you can indicate the approximate size you're considering, from A3 through to larger and extra-large formats.
I'll then help you choose the right proportions and scale for the painting, taking into account the space it is intended for, the composition and the feeling you want the finished work to have.
All paintings are original works created specifically for the collector. Prices vary according to size, medium and complexity.
BESPOKE
For larger-scale or unusual dimensions, I can create a completely bespoke canvas to suit your space.
If you have a particular wall or room in mind, don't worry if you don't know the exact size, that's something we can work out together.
Choosing your medium
Your commission can be created in the medium that best suits the subject, feeling and scale of the work. If you're not sure which would be right for your painting, I can advise you based on the place you're commissioning, the atmosphere you want to capture and the feeling you'd like the finished work to have.
WATERCOLOUR & MIXED MEDIA
Highly detailed, atmospheric original paintings on paper, with the delicacy and luminosity of watercolour alongside carefully built mixed-media details.
OIL ON CANVAS
Rich, painterly works with depth, texture and a more immersive presence.
